Peperomia Varieties - The Perfect Desk Companions

Meet the Peperomia family, a delightful group of houseplants celebrated for their unique foliage and compact, easy-to-manage size. We carry a wide range of these charming plants, each with its own distinct personality. They are ideal for bringing a pop of green to small spaces like desks, windowsills, or shelves, and their forgiving nature makes them perfect for both new and seasoned plant parents.

Plant Characteristics

  • Peperomia 'Quito': A rare beauty with round, deeply textured leaves that are a stunning mix of reddish-green and dark veins.
  • Peperomia 'Ripple Red': This classic variety has deeply ridged, heart-shaped leaves with a dramatic, deep red underside that contrasts beautifully with the green top.
  • Peperomia 'Burbella': Known for its round, slightly cupped leaves that have a prominent, silver-green vein pattern, giving it a striking quilted appearance.
  • Peperomia 'Picollo Banda': Features small, oval leaves with a beautiful, light green center and a dark green border, creating a layered, artistic look.
  • Peperomia 'Hope': This trailing variety has round, succulent-like leaves that grow in a delicate chain along its stems, perfect for hanging baskets or shelves.
  • Peperomia 'Caperata Ripple': A favorite for its deeply textured, heart-shaped leaves in a rich, dark green, forming a dense and lush mound.
  • Peperomia 'Napoli Nights': A captivating variety with silvery-white leaves and deep green veins, giving it an almost metallic appearance.

Care Instructions

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sun can scorch the leaves and fade their vibrant colors.
  • Water: Water thoroughly when the top two inches of soil feel dry. Peperomias store water in their leaves and stems, so they are sensitive to overwatering.
  • Humidity: Thrives in average to high humidity. They will appreciate a humid environment but are quite adaptable to standard home humidity levels.
  • Temperature: Thrives in typical room temperatures, between 65-80°F. Protect from cold drafts.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix. Good drainage is crucial to prevent root rot.
  • Fertilizer: Light feeding with a balanced houseplant food every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).

Special Notes

All of our Peperomia varieties are incredibly easy to care for and are a fantastic choice for those looking for a compact, low-maintenance plant. They are non-toxic to cats and dogs, making them a safe and beautiful addition to any home with pets. Their small size and unique foliage make them perfect for adding variety to your collection.

Perfect for desks, bookshelves, windowsills, and as a safe, beautiful addition to any plant collection.
