Meet Cathy, Senior Designer and visual stylist at Plattsburgh Flower Market.  With a career in floristry that spans nearly five decades, Cathy brings a level of mastery and intuition that can only come from time, talent, and tens of thousands of stems.

 

Cathy began her second career in floristry in 1976, and has since designed in several of the area's most respected flower shops.  Along the way, she honed ever facet of the craft — from classic sympathy work and high-volume holiday design to lush, garden-style weddings and intricate event pieces.  That breadth of experience makes her the designer the team turns to when a piece needs to be both technically flawless and truly beautiful.

 

Known for more than just her work at the design bench, Cathy has an exceptional eye for visual merchandising.  She's the reason the cooler, the storefront, and every display table feel curated and inviting.  Her ability to see color, texture, and flow turns everyday inventory into moments that stop customer in their tracks — and inspire them to bring that same beauty home.

 

After decades in the industry, Cathy's passion hasn't dimmed a bit.  She's still the first to experiment with a new technique, deconstruct a trend to understand it, and share what she's learned with the rest of the team.  She values the incredible community florists have built online, and stays current by studying design work from around the world and joining virtual sessions when she can.  For Cathy, learning isn't about chasing what's new — it's about refining what's timeless. 

 

With her wealth of experience, steady hand, and generous spirit, Cathy is more than a design.  She's a mentor, a merchandiser, and a cornerstone of the artistry Plattsburgh Flower Market is known for.
